Coplon Associates developed a master plan for the redevelopment of a 6.5-acre former mill site on the Penobscot River. Located adjacent to the downtown area with spectacular views of the falls, the plan seeks to provide recreational and cultural amenities together with opportunities for special commercial development. Park plan includes central lawn, performance and skating area, playground, teen, and picnic areas. Guidelines were established for use and design of areas designated for commercial development. Coplon Associates provided detailed design documentation for project implementation, which has been largely completed. CA also prepared a master plan for related downtown improvements that included recommendations for circulation, streetscape and open space enhancements.
