Coplon Associates provided full site design, permitting and construction administration services for a new 51 bed residential village for College of the Atlantic. The site design integrates three new high performance residential buildings into the fabric of two existing historic summer cottages renovated for campus use. Buildings are centered on a pedestrian street, linking the northern and southern parts of campus. A central green provides common open space and each building features courtyard with distinct design themes, reflective of the international nature of the COA’s student body. The project received a Merit Award in College and University Design in 2011 from the Boston Society of Landscape Architects.
