Mt. Desert Island Biological Laboratory Courtyard

Coplon Associates was retained to design a new courtyard to reflect the emerging direction of scientific entrepreneurship championed by MDIBL. CA’s crisp design address the pedestrianization of the former driveway and parking area linking the primary research facilities on campus. The plaza design serves to promote informal interaction and collegiality among MDIBL staff, faculty and visiting scientists.
