Coplon Associates has continued its long standing relationship the Mt. Desert Island Biological Laboratory, recently completing a new central courtyard for the research campus.

CA is continuing its role as the prime consultant for an Indefinite Quantities contract for Acadia National Park. CA is overseeing design and construction administration for a variety of facility and infrastructure improvements throughout the park.

CA is assisting Frenchman Bay Conservancy on redevelopment of the Tidal Falls Preserve, the FBC’s headquarters and flagship property on the reversing falls in Hancock Maine.

CA is serving as project planner and landscape architect for several privately funded and managed recreation / conservation projects in Northern and Eastern Maine. The projects will significantly increase public access for muscle powered activities in scenic, high value landscapes.

CA developed a master plan for a 350 acre privately held conservation parcel in Bentonville, Arkansas. The project integrates public improvements with a comprehensive network of single track bike trails within this unique in-town undeveloped resource.

CA’s design for the veteran’s memorial at the tribal cemetery for the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians was completed in June 2017. Funded by a Veterans Administration grant, the memorial includes a memorial wall and gathering area. CA designed the cemetery roadways and grave configuration in 2015.

CA is developing plans for the rehabilitation of the bog area at the Wild Gardens of Acadia. Plans include expanded raised bog, new boardwalk and viewing areas.

CA is engaged in numerous residential projects on Mt. Desert Island and other locations in eastern Maine.

CA is assisting the Town of Blue Hill, Maine in developing a comprehensive plan for improving bicycle and pedestrian access and safety for the greater downtown area. The plan will serve as the basis for funding applications from state and local sources for phased implementation.
